Ionia State Recreation Area

The Ionia State Recreation Area serves visitors to Sessions Lake and surrounding areas. The streets and standard campsites were repaved and various upgrades were completed to meet ADA compliance. The improvements also include a new water treatment system and a new roof for the beach house bathroom building.

Project Highlights:

• Road repaving and other renovations to the 100 campsite recreation area were completed in 2025
• Moore & Bruggink provided site layout, grading, and utility design
• Improved functionality was a key concern and our company provided creative solutions to upgrade five campsites to ADA compliance, house a new water treatment system, and improve traffic flow
• Moore & Bruggink collaborated with Century A&E to provide an improved camping experience for guests visiting Sessions Lake and the surrounding areas
