As we expand our team, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Representative/Inspector to contribute to our ongoing projects and initiatives.
Position Overview:
Join the Moore & Bruggink team as a Construction Representative and play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of challenging and impactful construction projects. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including construction inspection, quality control, and safety monitoring, while collaborating closely with engineers, contractors, and clients. Prior experience with MDOT procedures and a strong understanding of construction materials are beneficial for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Engineer’s Representative on construction projects.
- Perform construction inspection of various projects, including roads, bridges, trails, asphalt paving, concrete, public utilities, and site work.
- Conduct soils and HMA density tests, along with concrete QA testing and aggregate sampling.
- Monitor safety procedures on construction sites.
- Inspect storm water and erosion control measures.
- Utilize construction management software (FieldManager, Field Book, Project Wise, AASHTOWare).
- Manage project data, including daily report importing/exporting, compiling as‑built information, and generating item quantities for construction pay estimates.
- Review contractor payrolls and compile construction documents.
- Conduct plan reviews and quality control inspections.
- Perform tasks as directed by the Engineer.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
- Knowledge of MDOT procedures and specifications.
- Experience in construction inspection and quality control.
- Proficiency in construction management software (FieldManager, Field Book, Project Wise).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification; training is available.
- Knowledge/certification for concrete and density testing; training is available.
