Moore & Bruggink is providing design and construction engineering services for a new sanitary sewer collection system and wastewater treatment facility located in Montgomery County, Indiana, approximately 3 miles SE of Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The collection system will convey sanitary sewage from industrial and residential users to the new 100,000 gpd sequencing batch reactor treatment facility. The first phase of the project will provide sanitary service to an area approximately 6 sq. miles in size, with a full build-out service area of 10 sq. miles.
The SBR treatment facility utilizes pile cloth media type tertiary filtration to meet California Title 22 water reuse regulations. The treated effluent will be pumped to the adjacent Nucor Steel industrial facility for use as cooling water make-up, saving on their groundwater pumping needs. Energy efficient motors in the pumps and blowers and a SCADA control system add to the sustainable components of the project.
